The Data Engineer is responsible for assisting the day to-day operations in a high-volume wire room. Hands-on management of the operational activities is needed to support controls oversight on to the daily processing of domestic/international wire transactions. The Data Engineer will be responsible for concept creation included in the WRCT controls framework and supporting Data Analysts with various deliverables to the Wire Room Compliance Team. Works with machine learning engineers to provide enriched data sets for machine learning exploratory analysis and model training.
· Assist WRCT Manager with the development and maintenance of Python for the WRCT daily BAU workflow process needs.
· Develop procedure to interrogate controls from raw wire data origination.
· Automate procedures for data analysis to reproduce quality metrics reporting.
· Provide timely and accurate analysis involving daily reviews of wire messages in a face-paced,time-sensitive operations environment.
· Analyze, design, write test scripts and perform end-to-end testing of real-time and bath integrations between multiple systems.
· Responsible for Data Mapping/Integration of several internal data tables for screening messages in production and test environments.
· Provide system testing,analysis, implementation and ongoing maintenance of WRCT internal databases.
· Enhancement of WRCT internal databases to allow for continual development of the team’s workflow needs.
· Perform along side of the team, and assist the DA’s with BAU needs for development and maintenance of stored procedures in Python, SQL, VBA, and SharePoint;
· Act as a team of SMEs to assess WRCT internal needs, understand requirements, requirements fulfilment, and present solutions for continual workflow processes to remain in good standings and be performed on time;
· Articulate observations into presentations of Repeat Offenders to Senior Management;
· Ensure current Wire Room Compliance Analysts (“CA”) are sufficiently supported in BAU environment; and Back up WRCT’s Data Analysts BAU needs in Python, SQL, VBA, and Share Point management Skills.
· Bachelor's degree required;
· 2 years of experience with data modeling, staging, ETL, data warehouse design and support;
· Working knowledge of real time payments networks such as SWIFT, Chips, Fed Wire;
· Experience with statistical analysis software; SQL Server Report Services, Integration Services, Power BI a big plus.
· Background in math, statistics,information systems and a strong technical skill set with solid experience in generating reports for BAU purposes.
