Purpose of Position

Our Client, a Banking Institution seeks a Spanish-speaking Residential Loan Officer to manage and proactively solicit new residential mortgage and HELOC loan applications, interact with Spanish-speaking customers and referral sources as well as accept and complete all loan application files. To ensure a good volume of high-quality mortgage originations for the bank’s portfolio and for sale to institutional investors. This is a hybrid role based out of our DC location.. Essential Job Functions

1. Develop new residential mortgage production by calling on both internal and external referral sources.

2. Interact with customers seeking information about mortgage loan products by phone, in person at a branch location or through the Banks website.

3. Represent the bank to potential referral sources including real estate brokers, builders or developers, financial professionals, financial planners and CPA’s.

4. Compile loan documentation, review customer documents for accuracy. Ensure all conditions and requirements for processing and closing have been met including obtaining & reviewing 1003s, sales contracts, disclosures, tax returns, paystubs and other proofs of income.

5. Perform all tasks as required to originate loans in compliance with all federal and state regulations and with company standards in areas of customer satisfaction, speed and efficiency.

6. Coordinate preliminary loan underwriting, pre- qualification, and mortgage counseling.

7. Knowledge and understanding of all mortgage regulations including Reg B, Reg Z, HMDA, RESPA, FRCA, TRID, and the SAFE Act.

8. Knowledge and understanding of all mortgage documents & forms to include but not limited to loan estimate disclosure, endorsements, assignments, underwriting transmittals, notices to applicants, commitments, attorney letters and other documents as needed. Process and set up all loan information on the system.

9. Assist in tracking rates and preparing rate surveys of mortgage products.

10. Assist in the loan process as needed.

11. Knowledge of secondary market and agency guidelines for mortgage underwriting, and Appendix Q guidelines for documenting income and debts for mortgage loan applications.

12. Perform other duties as directed.

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent, combination of education, training, and experience.

2. Minimum 2 + years of mortgage banking experience preferable in a production role.

3. Fluent in Spanish a must.

4. Encompass experience preferred.

5. Good computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, and Windows.

6. Experience with front-end loan processing system, preferably Encompass.

7. Ability to travel and meet customers after hours.

8. Must be NMLS registered or able to become NMLS approved.
