Our Client, a NYC Headquartered Financial Institution is seeking a Lending & Fair Lending Compliance Officer to ensure the Bank’s lending products and loan servicing operations maintain compliance with federal and applicable state regulations, including and most significantly, compliance with fair lending laws. This is a hybrid position in their NYC, Boston, Washington DC, or San Francisco offices The right candidate for this ole needs to have a deep understanding of Fair Lending and everything that encompasses Fair Lending like TRID, HMDA, monitoring, etc. the first two Interviews start next week with the Chief Compliance Officer, and the Director of Consumer Banking.
1. Inform management and support teams of all key developments relative to lending-related consumer protection regulations and determine the impact of those developments to the Bank and its operations
2. Ensure existing and proposed lending-related business practices, policies, procedures, software systems, documents and disclosures comply with federal and state regulations
3. Serve as subject matter expert for residential, commercial real estate, consumer lending and loan servicing. Support all lending areas, products and services to assure no fair lending or disparate treatment occurs
4. Maintain and enhance written FairLending Program, including collaboration with lines of business to understand new products and services or changes in underwriting, pricing, policies, procedures, systems, and controls
5. Using Fair Lending Wiz, work with all lending areas & CRA Officer to identify loan penetration anomalies within geographies and across protected classes (and LMI census tracts and LMI income individuals to the extent viable)
6. Monitor policies, procedures and practices to ensure adherence with federal and state regulations related toFair Lending and general lending practices
7. Prepare periodic reports or dashboards for presentation to executive leadership, the Compliance Committee and the Board concerning the Bank’s record of Fair Lending compliance
8. Conduct instructor-led annual FairLending training and sessions for new and existing employees
9. Monitor regulatory developments.Coordinate regulatory changes within affected lines of business and ensure that changes and controls are implemented to facilitate regulatory compliance
10. Serve as a resource and be available to answer general compliance questions from employees and lines of businesses
11. Assist business units with analysis of compliance risks associated with new and existing consumer, commercial, and small-business loan products and services
12. Update the monitoring procedures as necessary to align with regulatory changes, and new or enhanced bank products and services
13. Conduct ongoing lending-related compliance, fair lending monitoring, risk assessments, and training
14. Manage the Fair Lending Program, which includes assisting business line staff in developing and reviewing policies and procedures and resolving identified concerns
15. Conduct fair lending reviews and serve as the primary Bank liaison to coordinateFair Lending audits and examinations. Monitoring and tracking corrective actions on regulatory and audit lending/fair lending issues to final resolution
16. Review and resolve fair lending related complaints
17. On an as-needed basis, perform research on regulatory issues that is thorough, accurate and timely. Communicate the results to management as applicable
18. Lead/support special projects as necessary
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalentexperience
2. Minimum 7+ years regulatorycompliance experience; 7+ year fair lending/fair banking experience withinbanking or financial services
3. CRCM designation or similardesignation required
4. Strong background and knowledge ofconsumer protection laws and regulations with expertise in residential andcommercial real estate lending, UDAAP, and fair lending/fair banking, TRID, HMDA Monitoring
5. Experience with consumer complianceregulatory examinations
6. Proficient computer skillsincluding Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
7. Strong verbal/writtencommunication and interpersonal skills
8. Strong analytical skills toresolve issues and discrepancies
9. Strong project management andorganizational skills
