Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Credit Officer in their Credit Administration department. This key position is responsible for successfully leading the real estate, consumer, commercial, and C&I and CRE lending departments, including appraisals and analysis, while maintaining the Bank’s lending policy and mission statement.

Role and Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Credit Officer you will be a Member of the Executive Management team: direct report to President & CEO and Loan & Discount Committee of Board.
In charge of Portfolio Management Department, providing oversight of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio. Responsibilities include full range of managerial duties for credit, quality assurance, and portfolio monitoring and reporting.
Provide hands-on analysis, underwriting, and documentation of all commercial loan activity for diverse C&I and CRE portfolio with credits ranging from traditional community bank loans to syndications.
Responsible for management of risk-based internal review plan: ongoing assessment of compliance with loan policy and regulatory requirements, credit quality and collateral documentation, and assignment of appropriate risk ratings and reserves.
Evaluate and recommend policy and procedure changes based on review results or specific credit product/portfolio sector risk.
Represent Bank in all credit matters with regulators and auditors; manage third-party audits and reviews of loan portfolio.
Lead credit training of department staff and interns.
Credit Review responsibility: construction, asset-based, C&I and CRE loans.
Produce Executive reports addressing underwriting quality, policy/regulatory compliance, risk rating/allowance assessment, and account management recommendations.

Knowledge and Experience

* Credit Analysis: 10 Years
* Lending: 10 Years
* Community Bank Experience Preferred
* Requires a comprehensive knowledge of the various functions administered by this position obtained by either an undergraduate degree in finance, agribusiness, accounting, business, or related field, and/or applicable work experience of at least 10 years. Community Bank experience and/or knowledge a plus.
* Completed Graduate School of Banking preferred.
* Advanced ability to read and understand technical, legal, real estate and financial documents.
* Strong administrative/Microsoft Office product knowledge. Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
* Professional Credit Training
* Proven leadership and management skills.
* Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, and to deal tactfully with personnel, customers, vendors, visitors, and the public.
