Job Description:

Our Client, a New Jersey Financial Institution is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Commercial Lending Officer to join their rapidly growing organization and expand their visibility and brand.

Summary:

The Commercial Lending Officer will be responsible for the origination, maintenance and growth of a commercial client portfolio to individuals and businesses throughout the New Jersey Metro Area. The types of Commercial Loans include but are not limited to

C & I

Multi-Family

Commercial Rael Estate

SBA

This person must be willing to perform all of the functions requirement for a Commercial Lending department to be successful including but not limited to:

Independent Loan Origination and Solicitation

Structuring and Presenting Complex and Tailored Loan Solutions

Working Closely with the Business Development Manager to Close Existing Leads

Portfolio Management

Credit Analysis (Spreading the Numbers) Underwriting

Proactively manage financial relationships to ensure quality risk management, maximum profitability and a superior customer experience.

The Commercial Lending Officer is also expected to be a visible ambassador within the local community, furthering the bank’s brand in the marketplace and adequately representing the bank at various industry, networking and municipal events.

Representative Duties Include:

Preparation of underwriting and loan presentations for Internal Loan Committee and Board of Directors in conjunction with the Credit Department.

Serve as primary customer point of contact, maintaining frequent and regular communication with existing customer base and documenting appropriate call memos to the customer’s file.

Ongoing portfolio management ensuring the timely handling and processing of upcoming loan maturities, renewals, updated financial statements, advance requests, etc. to ensure overall loan compliance and maintain asset quality.

Cultivate new Centers of Influence from the professional community who are capable of and have an interest in referring business to the Bank.

Accurate management and reporting of sales activities and in-process pipeline to provide senior management with appropriate sales forecasts.

Generate leads and referrals to other business lines within the Bank, including residential/consumer loans, insurance and investments.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years commercial lending and portfolio management experience, preferably with formal credit training.

Candidate must show a technical ability to properly underwrite various commercial loan transactions from the perspectives of both safety & soundness and compliance with regulatory requirements, and an ability to appropriately negotiate and present solutions to clients.

Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Preference to applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with an existing commercial loan client base.
