Job Title: Governance & Project Manager

Out Client, A NJ Based Financial Institution is looking for a Governance & Project Manager. The Governance & Project Manager will oversee several key Consent Order initiatives and will be responsible for/ to:

  • Managing remediation and other special projects.
  • Defining governance structure.
  • Facilitating key leadership meetings (Task Force).
  • Oversight of Compliance, Audit and Regulatory Reviews and Action Plans.
  • Direct interface with the Consent Order team.
  • Follow up with Regulators
  • Managing all Metrics and Reporting for program.
  • Creating project, contingency and dependency plans and 
  • Driving adherence to project management processes, procedures, methods.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Identify, build and manage key relationships across the organization.
  • Lead the facilitation, coordination and resolution of cross-functional projects within/across teams.
  • Lead the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established norms.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives
  • Drive adherence to project management processes, procedures, methods
  • Direct the communication of status and issues to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
  • Direct the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

Job Skills

  • Experienced in consulting with project stakeholders, including the skills to facilitate compromises and resolve conflicting requirements.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and foster internal relationships;
  • Proven track record in delivery of multiple parallel initiatives is essential;
  • Proven track record of operational process change, and improvement is essential;

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • PMI  Certification required 
  • Previous Project Management/Program Management experience for a Financial Institution managing under a Consent Order with responsibility for  tracking all tasks deliverables, contingencies and dependencies
  • People Leadership – Ability to lead and motivate teams in order to achieve superior results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions up to senior stakeholder level;
  • Ability to present to senior levels of management (e.g. Director,)
  • Ability to deal and follow up with regulators
  • Ability to lead strategic planning sessions challenging the status quo where appropriate and drive decision making process;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements;
  • A good knowledge of the techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge;
  • Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design;
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative;
  • Excellent analytical and problem -solving skills; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, BI Reporting tools;
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Writing Samples are requested and references.
  • Prior bank examination experience; Prior experience interacting with regulators and auditors
  • Excellent ability to take notes and synthesize complex information
  • Ability to utilize and manipulate data on excel to create issue matrix trackers.
